NCAR HCR radar moments data https://data.eol.ucar.edu/dataset/552.007 Summary HIAPER Cloud Radar (HCR) moments data collected during the SOCRATES (Southern Ocean Clouds, Radiation, Aerosol Transport Experimental Study) project from 15 January 2018 to 24 February 2018. The data have a 10Hz time resolution and a 19 m range resolution and are available in CfRadial format on a per flight basis. This data set contains all HCR variables at full resolution. A data set which contains only the primary HCR variables at a 2Hz resolution (and also data from the High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL)) is available at the link provided in the "Related links" section below. Identifiers * Local archive identifier: 552.007 * doi:10.5065/D68914PH https://doi.org/10.5065/D68914PH Versions 0.1 1.0: This data set is quality controlled. 2.0: The quality control procedure was updated resulting in improved power fields (DBZ, DBMVC, DBMHX), radial velocity, spectrum width, and radar altitude. Echo classification fields and a DBZ field with cloud echo only were added. Reanalysis (ERA5) and topography (GTOPO30) data interpolated onto the HCR time-range grid were added. (See readme file below for details.) 2.1: Melting layer and icing level fields were added. 3.0: Added velocity de-aliasing, convectivity, convective/stratiform echo type, and particle identification. 3.1: Improved bias correction for zenith pointing Doppler velocity. 3.2: Improved echo type and melting layer fields.
