These data are available to be used subject to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research ("UCAR") terms and conditions.
The NCAR/EOL/RAF Giant Cloud Condensation Nuclei Impactor (GNI) samples giant aerosol particles. Slides were exposed in the free air stream onto uncoated polycarbonate microscope slides. After exposure in the free air stream, the slides were analyzed in the NCAR/EOL/RAF GNI slide chamber, using a dual-optical microscope. Each slide was inserted into the humidified chamber with a relative humidity of 89.8%. Each file (uncompressed) contains 350 images, but one needs to write the data out as a png file (or similar) in order to see the images. Data are archived by date and are stored as .tar.gz files. For a detailed description, see two manuscripts in preparation by Jensen et al., available from the author.
