GCIP Water and Energy Budget Synthesis (WEBS) We provide herein a Water and Energy Budget Synthesis (WEBS) for the Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment's (GEWEX's) Continental Scale International Project (GCIP). The synthesis includes a brief description of the Mississippi River Basin climate, physiographic characteristics, available observations, representative types of models used for GCIP investigations, as well as a comparison of water and energy variables and budgets from models and observations for the recent period. Our goal was to close the Mississippi River Basin water and energy budgets. WEBS Document Title Page Abstract 1. Introduction 2. Berbery (berbery@atmos.umd.edu)) are provided in the following directories. The data files used are located in separate directories. Model data are labeled by model name (gsm, rean1, rean2, rsm, vic). Observations are labeled by the contributors name or data type (i.e. pinker, higgins, janowiak, grdc, meyers, etc.). Each directory has a readme.htm file with a description of the data and/or filenames. Please contact the appropriate individuals when making use of their data or observations to find out appropriate references and possible updates to what is shown here. /data/models/ gsm contains monthly data from the Global Spectral Model. rean1 contains monthly data from the Reanalysis I. rean2 contains monthly data from the Reanalysis II. rsm contains monthly data from the Regional Spectral Model.
