TITLE: Texas Automated Buoy System (TABS) Data CONTACTS: http://tabs.gerg.tamu.edu/Tglo/ 1.0 DATA SET OVERVIEW This data set contains 30-minute resolution surface meteorological and oceanographic data from the Texas Automated Buoy System (TABS) network which is operated by the Geochemical and Environmental Research Group in the Texas A&M University College of Geosciences and the Texas General Land Office Oil Spill Prevention and Response group. There are 6 stations within the network that provide meteorological observations. The stations are located along the Texas Gulf coast. This data set covers the period from 1 June to 31 October 2005. The data are in space delimited ASCII format. NCAR/EOL has conducted no additional quality control on these data. 2.0 INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION Information in this readme is from the NDBC. 2.1 Instrumentation and Station Locations TABS Buoy B 28 58.9080'N 94 55.1160'W AA3900 DCS - sensor depth 2m Anemometer height: 4m Water Depth: 63 feet (19 meters) TABS Buoy H 27° 52.0458'N 96° 32.6010'W AA3900 DCS - sensor depth 2m Anemometer height: 4m Water Depth: 110 feet (33 meters) TABS Buoy J 26 11.4840'N 97 03.0420'W AA3900 DCS - sensor depth 2m Water Depth: 68 feet (20 meters) TABS Buoy K 26 13.0080'N 96 29.9880'W AA3900 DCS - sensor depth 2m Anemometer height: 4m Water Depth: 204 feet (62 meters) TABS Buoy N 27 53.4180'N 94 02.2020'W AA3900 DCS - sensor depth 2m Anemometer height: 4m Water Depth: 345 feet (105 meters) TABS Buoy V 27 53.7960'N 93 35.8380'W AA3900 DCS - sensor depth 2m Anemometer height: 4m Water Depth: 295 feet (89 meters) NCAR/EOL conducted no processing or quality control on these data. 4.0 DATA FORMAT AND FILE NAMING 4.1 Data Format These data are in space delimited ASCII format.
