1.0 DATA SET OVERVIEW
This data set contains 1-minute resolution surface meteorological data
from the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) stations located
across the IHOP region. These data were retrieved via modem several
times per day during the IHOP period (13 May to 25 June 2002). Each file
contains 12 hours of data so some overlap between files is expected. The
data are in ASCII format.

The ASOS one minute data are in several sections (or "LISTING"s).

VIS1 - Visibility extinction coefficient sensor #1
D/N1 - Day/Night indicator sensor #1

4.2 File Naming conventions
LAW.ihop.20020616.02
where:
LAW is the station ID (here Lawton OK).
ihop is the project
2002 is the four digit year
06 is the two digit month
16 is the two digit day
02 is the file number for that day (starts with 00)
The date of the file is the day the modem dialed the station. There
may be data from the previous or following day in the file.
