1.0 DATA SET OVERVIEW
This data set contains the daily radiosonde observations from the
Coordinated Enhanced Observing Period (CEOP) Global Energy and Water
Cycle Experiment (GEWEX) Americas Prediction Project (GAPP) Reference
Site operated by the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Program at
its North Slope of Alaska (NSA) facility in Barrow, Alaska. This data
set includes 2-sec vertical resolution observations of temperature,
pressure, dew point, wind speed, wind direction and relative humdity.
This data set covers the time period 1 October 2002 through 30 September
2003. Further information about the ARM NSA site is available at the
following URL: http://www.arm.gov
These data are in netcdf format.

2.0 INSTRUMENTATION DESCRIPTION
The ARM NSA radiosonde measurements are from their Balloon-Borne Sounding
System (BBSS).
2.1 BBSS Sensors
Vaisala RS90-a (PTU only, dual humicap). The RS90-AG is also occasionally used.
