FRONT-DE2: Front Range Observational Network Testbed - Demonstration Experiment 2

Summary

Polarization cross-coupling effects in simultaneous HV pulse transmission mode: FRONT-DE2.

Targeted thunderstorms were observed by EOL S-Pol (operating in simultaneous HV transmission mode), CSU-CHILL (operating in alternating H, V transmission mode), as well as the NWS KFTG dual-pol radar. Artifacts in the simultaneous VH mode data due to regions of canted hydrometeor orientations were examined.
