Abstract:

This data set represents the southern boundary of the Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC - the Barrow Village Corporation) as established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

Purpose:

This data set was compiled for the Barrow Arctic Science Consortium (BASC) Barrow Area Information Database.

Supplemental_Information:

"Village Corporation" means an Alaska Native Village Corporation organized under the laws of the State of Alaska as a business for profit or nonprofit corporation to hold, invest, manage and/or distribute lands, property, funds, and other rights and assets for and on behalf of a Native village in accordance with the terms of this chapter; ANCSA Definitions 43 U.S.C. § 1602
