GTS Ship Observations

   This dataset contains the global ship observations for each day. This 
data is contained in daily files which are in GEMPAK format. Ship reporting
frequencies can be quite variable but are often hourly in frequency. This data
was collected at JOSS and may not contain data which was removed from the 
US GTS feed. In addition the reliability of reporting by each ship is quite 
variable. The period of record for this data is 1/18/99-3/31/99.
