COSE-79: Colorado Orographic Seeding Experiment - 1979

Summary

Professor Lewis O. Grant utilized the QueenAir, B-80 aircraft to investigate the solution to key physical problems in the development of a weather modification technology of broad applicability, as well as for the immediate area of study, the Colorado Rockies. Among the specific problems that were addressed were the dispersion and transport of seeding materials, cloud microphysical process, and the definition of predictors useful in both research and operations. This project took place in the central and northern Colorado Rockies.
