FIB-II: Fires in Brazil II

Summary

The King Air was used during the peroid 8 September to 4 October 1993 to provide flight support for the Fires in Brazil-II project.  This is an extension of the 1992 interdisciplinary program Fires in Brazil.  The primary objective was to assess continental-scale emissions from the burning of tropical forest in savannah in Brazil.  In-situ measurements of trace gas and particulate matter concentrations from the aircraft were used to derive emissions flux estimates for biomass combustion in central Brazil.
