FORMATION: QueenAir Formation

Summary

The QueenAir Formation (FORMATION) project investigated the methods which multi-aircraft experiments utilize to collect data from onboard instruments and the variance in the respective data caused by turbulence. Dr. Donald Lenschow flew two QueenAir aircrafts, A-80 and B-80 on a series of formation flights over Eastern Colorado during the month of September, 1979.
