FRONT-ROSE: Front Range Observational Network Testbed - Radar Observations of Storms for Education

Summary

Development of an educational case study library of convective storms: FRONT-ROSE.

Standardized synchronized volume scans were conducted by the CSU-CHILL and EOL S-Pol radars to document the evolution of various types of convective echo systems (i.e., developing squall lines, etc.) Supplemental RHI scans were adjusted to provide higher resolution observations of selected convective system regions. The resultant data sets were organized into an interactive educational case study library.
