GOULD-O2: ARSV Laurence M. Gould Atmospheric O2 and CO2 Measurements
Summary
Between June 2012 and November 2017, NSF NCAR conducted in situ measurements of atmospheric O2 and CO2 onboard the NSF ARSV Laurence M. Gould, on over 90 transects of Drake Passage on 50 cruises. During this time, the Gould operated in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program out of Punta Arenas, Chile, primarily as a resupply vessel for Palmer Station on the Antarctic Peninsula. The cruises occurred in all months of the year but were more sparse during austral winter. The cruises span from 52.5° to 65°S in all months, and extend as far as 70°S during summertime Palmer LTER cruises. One cruise leg extended north from Punta Arenas along the west coast of South America to the Equator.
