TI3GER-2: Technological Innovation Into Iodine and GV Environmental Research - Phase 2

Summary

TI3GER-2 builds on TI3GER, conducted in FY22, and is needed to fill critical testing gaps in inlet characterization. The core of the TI3GER-2 test program is the certification and characterization of a novel laminar flow inlet coupled to a high-resolution atmospheric pressure interface time-of-flight Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry (API-ToF-CIMS) instrument. The inlet and instrument will be deployed to a location along the US West Coast with a basic suite of air-mass tracers and fast wind measurements to assess performance to measure Eddy Covariance Fluxes (O3, CO, H2O) in the marine boundary layer and icing conditions in the TTL and UTLS to prepare for future scientific field campaigns.
