HS3 2013 Global Hawk Dropsonde Data

Summary

NOAA/NASA Global Hawk dropsonde data from seven research flights conducted between 20 August and 19 September 2013 for the Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel (HS3) project. The GH is equipped with an NCAR/NOAA dropsonde system specially designed for remote operation. A total of 433 quality controlled soundings are available.

    Files were corrected for gross errors in the GPS latitude and longtiude in approximately half of the type II HS3-2013 soundings.

  • 3.0 (2016-06-09):

    This dataset has been corrected for a temperature dependent RH dry bias. This dataset included an error that has been removed in version 4.0. 


  • 4.0 (2016-06-09):

    This dataset has been corrected for a temperature dependent RH dry bias and has corrected for an error in the previously updated version.

  • 5.0 (2016-07-29):

    This dataset includes a correction for a temperature dependent RH dry bias and a dew point temperature correction.
