March 25, 1998 SHEBA Participants On behalf of the ocean group, Miles McPhee, Tim Stanton, Doug Martinson and myself, we are contributing the attached data to the SHEBA data bank. It is a preliminary analysis of every 10th downcast of the yoyo CTD between the start of SHEBA and the end of January, 1998. It is made from Tim Stanton's field summary data analysis. These are the data that were shown in contour form at the March 1998 meeting. Though the final corrections have not been applied, we anticipate these data are fairly close and should be fine for data comparisons at this stage. Contour plots certainly show the important features. The data are in ascii files made from Matlab mat files. They should be easy to incorporate into spreadsheets or math applications such as matlab. - Jamie Morison The files include: JansumDepth = Depth column vector (101x1), giving the 101 sample depths JansumTime = Time row vector (1x192), giving the time of each of the 192 profiles in sheba days JansumT = Temperature matrix (101x192) giving 101 rows of ocean temperature for 101 depths in JansumDepth and 192 times given in JansumTime JansumS = Salinity matrix (101x192) giving 101 rows of ocean salinity for 101 depths in JansumDepth and 192 times given in JansumTime JansumRho = Density matrix (101x192) giving 101 rows of Sigma-theta for 101 depths in JansumDepth and 192 times given in JansumTime
