Summary
The GTS Sounding Observations Data set is one of several data sets collected by the National Center for Atmospheric Research/Earth Observing Laboratory. These data are contained in daily files which are in GEMPAK format. The data were acquired via the UNIDATA Local Data Manager (LDM).
Archive note
Due to an unexptected hardware failure 21 files were lost corresponding to dates in the first half of 2017. Specifically, the files associated with the following days (in year 2017) are missing: Jan 8, 17, 24, 28; Feb 11, 13, 20, 24, 25; Mar 4, 21; Apr 10, 24, 25, 30; Jun 6, 9, 10.
As of 21 May 2024, this gempak dataset will not be continuing to collect any real-time data. Please see related links below for similar datasets that will be continuing real-time data collection.
