NCAR/NSF C-130 High Rate (1 sps) Navigation, State Parameter, and Microphysics Flight-Level Data [NCAR/EOL]

Project:

Summary

The INtercontinental chemical Transport EXperiment - Phase B was a two phase experiment that aimed to understand the transport and transformation of gases and aerosols on transcontinental/intercontinental scales and assess their impact on air quality and climate. The primary constituents of interest are ozone and its precursors, aerosols and precursors, and the long-lived greenhouse gases. INTEX-B was conducted during a 10-week period from March 1 to May 15, 2006. The first phase of the study was performed during March and focused on Mexico City pollution outflow, while the second phase was performed during April and May and focused on Asian pollution outflow. This dataset contains High-Rate (HRT) airborne measurements obtained from the NSF/NCAR Research Aviation Facility (RAF) C-130Q Hercules aircraft (Tail Number N130AR) during the second phase (INTEX-B2). The files are in netCDF format.
