CaPE CLASS Sounding Data

Summary

NCAR's Cross Chain Loran Atmospheric Sounding System (CLASS) rawinsonde data consist of vertical profiles of pressure, temperature, relative humidity and wind speed/direction from a network of seven stations (6 fixed, 1 mobile). No set schedule was used but often 3-hourly soundings from 1100- 2300 UTC. Final datasets include 10 sec and interpolated 5 mb resolutions.

Data is ordered by the last 3 letters of the station location. Station tco data is in individual raw ascii files from data taken during soundings. Most other stations have two or three ascii files of comments, README or dailty data recovery rate information, plus tar files of data.
