TOGA COARE soundings from Madang

Summary

This dataset consists of sounding data from Madang (WMO 94014) in Papua New Guinea which was operated by the Papua New Guinea Meteorological Service. Soundings were taken twice daily (00 and 12 UTC) during the IOP. UCAR/JOSS conducted no quality control on these data. This dataset includes pressure, temperature, dew point, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and altitude taken at a variable vertical resolution. Refer to the station README file for details. NOTE: This data has been updated (5/2/2002) with corrected data for the humidity measurement errors of the Vaisala RS 80 radiosonde (Wang et al 2002). Please see the README for details.
