TOGA COARE soundings from Kapingamarangi
Summary
This dataset consists of Integrated Sounding System (ISS) sounding data from Kapingamarangi Island (WMO 91434) in the Caroline Islands which was operated by the National Center for Atmospheric research/Surface and Sounding Systems Facility (NCAR/SSSF). Soundings were taken twice daily (00 and 12 UTC) during the EMP and four times daily (00, 06, 12, and 18 UTC) during the IOP. UCAR/JOSS conducted no quality control on these data. This dataset includes pressure, temperature, dew point, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and altitude taken at 10 second vertical intervals. Refer to the station README file for details. NOTE: This dataset has been updated (4/18/2002) with corrected data for the humidity measurement errors of the Vaisala RS80 radiosonde (Wang et al 2002). Please see the new Readme file for additional information.
