VORTEX-94 6-sec NWS Soundings
Summary
The Verification of the Origins of Rotation in Tornadoes Experiment (VORTEX) 6-second National Weather Service (NWS) Soundings dataset contains high resolution sounding data extracted from NWS MicroART Sounding systems at 12 sites in the VORTEX project domain. The dataset contains one sounding level every 6 seconds. These data have been extensively quality-controlled, with every sounding subjected to both computerized consistency checks and human visual review. This dataset includes pressure, temperature, dew point, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and altitude.
