Low Rate Navigation, State Parameter, and Microphysics Flight-Level Data [NCAR/EOL]

Project:

Summary

This data set includes airborne measurements obtained from the NCAR Research Aviation Facility (RAF) C-130 aircraft (Tail Number: N130AR) during the First Aerosol Characterization Experiment (ACE-1). This dataset contains low rate navigation, state parameter, and microphysics flight-level data in NetCDF format. These files are the unabridged data from the C130 datasystem, and include numerous raw or uncalibrated chemistry, CN, and CCN variables. Please look for the standalone final datasets for those variables.

Versions
  • 1.0 (2011-05-17)
  • 1.1 (2024-08-13):

Added metadata to size-distribution variables to meet current version of nimbus netCDF conventions.  This will allow modern software to access the size-distribution data correctly.

(Only the current version of the data is available to order. If you have questions about a prior version, please email us.)
