29 May 2012 DC3 PASIV Archive
Summary
This dataset contains the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) Particle Size, Image, and Velocity (PASIV) probe observations during the Deep Convective Clouds and Chemistry (DC3) experiment in the spring of 2012. The PASIV probe is a balloonborne microphysics probe that was used to collect in situ microphysics observations inside severe convection during the project. There were two cases, 21 June 2012 and 29 May 2012 and this dataset contains the data for the 29 May 2012 case. This dataset contains video files as recorded from the camera on the PASIV probe which captures particles passing through the instrument viewing chamber. The Parsivel file is a text file containing Parsivel output, including binned particle data, every 10 seconds as particles pass through the laser beam of the Parsivel during the flight. The T230946.txt file is the radiosonde data, output every 1 second. Please see the readme file for more information on this dataset.
Note that this dataset contains large files.
