KOFSE: NOAA AVHRR Satellite Data
Summary
Satellite images archived in KuDA are derived from either the NOAA or the Dept of Defense polar orbiting weather satellites. This dataset consists of the NOAA series, which includes images from four satellites which were transmitting data during 1991 (NOAA-9, 10, 11, 12). Each of these satellites carried a sensor called the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR), which is one source of images for KuDA (the other source is the Department of Defense's OLS). All data are in TDF format.
