Low Rate (LRT - 1 sps) Navigation, State Parameter, and Microphysics Flight-Level Data

Summary

This data set includes airborne measurements obtained from the NSF/NCAR C-130 aircraft (Tail Number N130AR) during the Front Range Air Pollution and Photochemistry Experiment (FRAPPE) project. This dataset contains low rate navigation, state parameter, and microphysics flight-level data in netCDF format.

  • 1.1 (2015-05-28):

    These files are exactly the same as version 1.0 with the addition of two Terrain Height vars: ALTG_SRTM,  SFC_SRTM.

  • 2.0 (2019-06-17):

    Removal of variables from redundant sensors that are not typically released as a part of the final dataset.

    Updated PCORS resulting in pressures different on the order of 1 mbar and corrected wind speed components different on the order of 0.5 to 1 m/s, relative to previous versions.

    ALTG_SRTM and SFC_SRTM remain in version 2.0 as they were in version 1.1.

    Geo-potential height was added and DVALUE uses that instead of GPS altitude.
