GOES-7 VAS Derived Products Data
Project:
Summary
The GOES-7 VISSR Atmospheric Sensor allowed for the derivation of (for clear/partly cloudy conditions) cloud cover, earth/cloud temperatures, cloud type, cloud motion derived winds, stereo derived cloud-top heights, water vaporand temperature fields, improved surface temperatures and vertical profiles of temperature and moisture. Also, precipitable water was derived. The parameters able to be derived depends on the mode of operation of the satellite (normal/RISOP).
