ACE-1: Satellite: GMS-5 Digital Satellite Data (McIDAS Area Format)

Summary

This dataset contains GMS-5 Digital Satellite Data obtained by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) during ACE-1. The data consist of visible, infrared (11 micron), and water vapor (6.7 micron) hourly images in McIDAS AREA format. The image sectors are as follows: Visible (1 km res) -32S to S Pole, 118E to 176E; Infrared (4 km res): 19N to S. Pole, 158W to 79E; Water vapor (4 km res): 19N to S. Pole, 158W to 79E. No additional quality control or navigation corrections have been applied to this imagery.
