PECAN: NCAR S-Pol radar moments data

Summary

S-Pol radar moments data collected during the Plains Elevated Convection at Night (PECAN) project from 26 May 2015 to 16 July 2015. The data are available as hourly tar files (~2.7GB/file) in cfRadial format.

Versions	0.1 (2015-07-13): This is uncorrected in-field (preliminary) data. 1.0 (2016-03-31): This is the QC Version 1 data. 2.0 (2016-08-29): Fri Aug 19 10:19:01 MDT 2016 A problem was found in the S-Pol PECAN RHI scans for 1-17 June 2015. These scans had earlier been re-processed from original time series data to correct a beam-smearing problem. During that re-processing, the H and V powers were incorrectly swapped, resulting in bad values for Zdr and PHIDP. This problem has now been corrected in QC Ver2 (qcv2). All scans, even those that were not impacted, have been re-bundled during creation of this newer data set. (Only the current version of the data is available to order. If you have questions about a prior version, please email us.)
