OTREC: NCAR HCR radar moments data

Summary

This dataset contains HIAPER Cloud Radar (HCR) data collected aboard the NSF/NCAR GV HIAPER (Gulfstream-V High-performance Instrumented Airborne Platform for Environmental Research, HIAPER) (N677F) during OTREC (Organization of Tropical East Pacific Convection). The data were collected during 22 research flights which took place between August 7 and October 2, 2019, over the East Pacific and extreme SW Caribbean Ocean.

  • 0.1 (2019-11-07):

    Version 0.1 is the raw field data.

  • 1.0 (2020-01-03):

    Quality controlled final data set.

  • 2.0 (2020-02-24):

    Radar variables stayed the same. Model variables were upgraded to ERA5 (instead of ECMWF forecasts).

  • 2.1 (2020-08-10):

    Freezing level data field was added.

  • 2.2 (2021-04-20):

    Freezing level was replaced with melting layer field. Icing level was added.
