DYCOMS-II: COAMPS 54km Imagery Subset
Summary
The COAMPS 54km Imagery (GIF) is one of several model products collected as part of the Dynamics and Chemistry of Marine Stratocumulus PhaseII: Entrainment Studies (DYCOMS-II) project field catalogoperated by the National Center For Atmospheric Research/Earth Observing Laboratory (NCAR/EOL: http://catalog.eol.ucar.edu/dycoms). The plots are from the Coupled Atmospheric Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS) model which was run by the Naval Research Laboratory in a special mode for DYCOMS-II. Three nested grids were used: a 54km resolution grid, an inner 18km grid, and a small 6km grid over the DYCOMS-II target area. This data set contains a subset of the imagery from the 54km grid. Included are surface, 925mb, 850mb, and 500mb imagery for the analysis time and forecast imagery every three hours to 24 hours. The model was run at 00 and 12 UTC each day. The products cover the period from 1-31 July 2001 (no imagery available 23 and 25 July) and cover the region from 23-41 N and 111-139 W. All images are in GIF format.
