IHOP_2002: NCAR Mesoscale Model (MM5)
Summary
The NCAR/Penn. State University (PSU) mesoscale model MM5 Version 3 was run by NCAR for the IHOP project. A 15 hour forecast was made using dynamic initialization period of 4 hours. The model was forced with output data from the operational forecasts from AWIP3D Eta 12 km model. Two levels of nesting were used to produce a high resolution (1.333 km) simulation centered on on the Oklahoma panhandle region where the ATD S-Pol and ISS systems are based. The products are usually available about 2230Z.
Files with the designations nofdda, fddasol, and fdda2 were not loaded with the data. These files are available by request only. See the contact info below.
