CODE-II: Second COastal Dynamics Experiment

Summary

The purpose of the Second COastal Dynamics Experiment (CODE-II) project was to identify and study important dynamical processes that govern the wind-driven motion of coastal water over the continental shelf. Measurements of the wind field, momentum, heat and water vapor fluxes were collected using the QueenAir, B-80 aircraft to provide spatial information on the atmospheric forcing over the coast of Santa Rosa. A drifting buoy tracking experiment was also implemented to determine the ocean currents in the experimental area.
