MSS-82: Marine Stratus Studies - 1982

Summary

The Marine Stratus Studies (MSS) project, led by Dr. James W. Telford, studied the marine stratus near the California coast. This project was aimed at explaining the development of the dynamics, microphysics and radioactive properties of stratus clouds. The relationships between radiation above an in-cloud, cloud droplet spectra, in-cloud convection, sub-cloud radiation and sea surface temperature were studied.
