CZWEP: Coastal Zone Wind Energy Project

Summary

The Coastal Zone Wind Energy Project (CZWEP) focused on developing a procedure for locating optimum regions for wind energy conversions within the coastal zone of the U.S. Dr. Michael Garstang utilized the QueenAir, B-80 aircraft to determine two dimensional wind fields at various altitudes within this coastal zone. The research was conducted in the vicinity of Wallops Flight Center, Virginia.
