Q80: Queimadas 1980

Summary

Vegetative fires in the tropical regions are one of the major sources that are responsible for trace gases in the global atmosphere. Forest clearing is a major component of this category. Queimadas '80 (Q80) utilized the Sabreliner, Model 60 aircraft to measure the concentration of pyrogenic species to infer emission factors and to establish the contribution of these vegetative fires to the world atmosphere.
