OAFSS: Ocean/Atmosphere Flux Scale Study

Summary

For the Ocean/Atmosphere Flux Scale Study (OAFSS), the space scale of Ocean/Atmosphere fluxes of sensible and latent heat, as well as momentum, was measured directly via ‘correlation techniques’ with the L-188 Electra aircraft. This scale information was compared with simultaneous estimates of the same fluxes derived from the bulk formulae and with the bulk parameters themselves.
