Idaho Power Company Crouch Sounding Data [IPC]
Summary
This dataset contains sounding data for the ice water content from the isokinetic probe (IKP2) at the Crouch site for Seeded and Natural Orographic Wintertime clouds - the Idaho Experiment (SNOWIE). Idaho Power utilizes Lockheed Martin LMS6 Radiosondes and Ground Systems. The LMS6 Radiosondes use GPS data to track the radiosonde’s position and height as well as calculating wind speed and direction. Other meteorological data that are collected is pressure, temperature, and humidity. These are calculated from a suite of onboard sensors that include a chip thermistor temperature sensor and a LMU6 humidity sensor. This data is transmitted to the LMS6 Ground System at a frequency between 400.250 and 405.875 MHz. The data are in ASCII files with fixed width columns. The Crouch sounding file names have the prefix "kcrh". Refer to the readme for further information.
